Kev8287
I have a 45 1911, built by SA custom shop, with a Nowlin Barrel that chronos about 30fps slower that the stock barrel in my Springfield Loaded. Has anyone else seen that Nowlin barrels are slower? The rate of twist is the same. Thanks in advance.
Guy Neill
Not specific to Nowlin Each barrel is different, chambers in particular. The differences will give different results based on the dmensions. Guy
jcc7x7
All my Schumann bbls are slower than the other s It is what it is
zzt
I wouldn't worry about it. As previously said, every barrel is different. I have two supposedly identical barrels that have a 20fps difference in the same gun with the same load. My 1911s all give different velocities. I just load for the slowest to be sure I make PF in all of them.
ltdmstr
Yes, and my 5" Nowlin barrel is a bunch faster than my 5.4" SV barrel. Too many variables involved to say one brand, length, twist, etc. is faster than another.
