JatCarver
If you were going to upgrade the trigger on a STI single stack which product would you get? SVI or EGW kit?
zzt
I would not hesitate to use either, but my preference would be the EGW kit. I'm not keen on the tri-glide stuff. I run the EGW kit with the EGW lightened hammer along with a 19lb ISMI mainspring (included). I also use their Ti strut and MSH spring cap with a SS firing pin (in a 70 series gun). bokbok_05
+1 on EGW sear and disconnector and Koenig hammer. Been using 2+ years now and very consistent. Average of 1.5lbs trigger pull since day 1.
dansedgli
I put the svi stuff into my old trojan. No complaints. It was not the triglide gear.

EdwardBlake
I have used the SV non tri glide and the EGW stuff. I would use either and would mix the SV trigger with the EGW parts.
2011BLDR
SVI non-triglide.. last 12 or so I have done have had a .014" Reset... 4 of the 12 were replacing EGW parts.
ltdmstr
I use both. Had a couple EGW hammers crack a while back, and those were replaced free of charge. Have not had any problems since. Can't go wrong either way. Both are a lot less work to get a good trigger, and will last a lot longer than other stuff on the market.

Aircooled6racer
Hello: I like the EGW stuff. George does a great job on all his products. I really like the new style hammer for a 1911. It looks great and works very well. The EGW hard sear is the standard for most great trigger jobs. Thanks, Eric

JatCarver
Thanks guys, I'll probably go with non tri-glide SVI parts. I have a SV safety so should go well together.

alan1985
Just picked up my first STI (Lawman 5.0 in 9mm). What level of fitting did it take you guys to install the SVI/EGW kits?
ltdmstr
That depends on your skill level and expectations. Some people just drop them in as they are. I stone the hammer hooks, cut them down if necessary, cut the sear relief angle, recut the sear primary angle if necessary, polish all contact surfaces, etc. Same as any other trigger job. JatCarver
For the guys saying there using non tri glide SV stuff, when I look on the web site I only do t see any non tri glide disconnector or sear spring?
ltdmstr
Tri-glide parts are trigger and sear spring. They have the little ball bearings. The hammer, sear, and disco are the same. I've used several of the tri-glide triggers without problems. I don't care for the titanium sear springs though. I use the standard Wolff springs.
