Revofan
I'm looking for an new open minor load something soft I'm currently using 4.2 gr of n320 behind a 115jhp 125-130 PF I like it just want to see what you guys are running and how you like it needs to be able to knock down steel poppers plates etc
bradsteimel
For my 9 minor Limited gun, I use 4.1gr N320 with a 124gr MG JHP for a 120 PF. I use this for steel challenge. For USPSA and for knockdown steel I bump it to 4.4 grains to get it 129 power factor. For my 9minor Open gun I use 6.3gr of N350 and a 115gr MG JHP for a 140PF. wblacksh
I used 4gr of titegroup under an xtreeme 124 bullet in my Trubor. Worked great with stock internals. It felt like a pea shooter and had more of a lobbing feel than snap. I never had an issue of needing to shoot steel more than once to knock it down. bradsteimel
It's not totally full. It's a heavy 1/8" from the top. But it's full enough that occasionally some will bounce out Not much compressed though. I've gone from 1.165 OAL to now using 1.140. bradsteimel
Well, i think it's soft and flat. But i typically shoot uspsa Open Major with a gun that's an exact copy that's designed for major... so when i grab the Open Minor version, it's really fun to shoot Steel with. blueeyedme
I see this come up once in a while and I don't shoot open minor so forgive me if this is a silly questions...how does a minor load work the comp? I love my 9 major load but I have it cranked up to 175pf to work the comp.
Revofan
doesn't work it as good as shooting major but it is a noticeable difference I've shot with and with out same load there is a noticeable difference
bradsteimel
For 9 minor Open, use a slower powder (N320) so it's still burning and producing gas at the end of the bbl so the comp will work. Note: that's my layman's explanation of how it works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sweetback
BERRY's 100gr. HBFP with 5.1gr of SOLO 1000 or 95gr M. GOLD with same powder charge. 1.050 O.A.L. for both. Shoots flat and loud. Compressed load. Edited February 2, 2016 by sweetback
Hi-Power Jack
use a slower powder (N320) I've never used N320, but I have the impression it is a "fast" powder, ideal for non-comped guns. The slower powders are WAC and HS6, as an example. And even though the comp isn't "working" as well as at 175 PF, the recoil is much lighter to start with, and the gun/comp is pretty heavy. racegun9
I've been using Win 231 with 115 or 125 JHP. Depending on how your gun is sprung. You might be able to start in the Mid 4 grain range. I use a low 5 grain load with my gun set-up for major loads. 1.165 OAL for me. I don't want to change springs every time I shoot steel or I could probably lower my powder charge. Aircooled6racer
Hello: Light bullet and powder that gives off lots of gas. 95 grain bullet and 7 grains of HS-6 should work great. Thanks, Eric
Tino2212
I use 6.4 grain of 3n37 and a 115 grain bullet shoots nice and flat enough gas to work the comp . For minor i use a 7 lbs recoil spring Edited February 24, 2016 by Tino2212
