Smallbore
I have done a search and can't find much on the magazine base pads to use with a prone pad/magwell. I just acquired an open gun and I'm pretty sure it has the Protocol Design prone pad on it. What magazines work best with it? It is .38 super. I have several Wilson mags but the base pads are too wide and won't fit in the magwell.
DWFAN
9rd Metalform and Colt mags are what I use. Most mags with the plastic removable basepad wont fit(Trip, Wilson, Metalform 10rd). I used the fixed metal base mags and use the screw on pads you can get from brownells. Edited December 15, 2015 by DWFAN

RippinSVT
Metalform on my 9mm with Protocall prone pad, Chip McCormick on my 38 Super with custom prone pad.
Alan550
I use the Wilson mags and replaced the pads with the metal ones from Wilson. Adds some weight to help with removal and they fit in the Protocall Prone Pad.

gm iprod
I run any standard flat steel bottomed Super mag in my guns, some mags have had a nylon bumper added as above. The Wilson ETM will fit in most guns, but as usual some requiring a small amount of shaving off the sides of the bumper. Nothing a belt sander does not fix.
