Beretta Elite II vs Wilson Beretta

Can anyone familiar with both of these models explain the difference? I'm familiar with the Beretta Elite II but not the Wilson Beretta. It looks like a pretty sweet gun. Other than the rail on the Wilson Beretta, I'm sure there must be some other differences?

The EII has the best non railed frame put out for this platform.

Beveled mag well,

Checkered front and bac strap, radiused back strap.

It should have been more of a hit with production,

But...

They started putting in plastic triggers, guide rod, decocker, etc.

The front sight was more suited to target than production/SSP.

Also,

They priced it very non competitively.

And not well advertised.

In my opinion, they have missed a lot of growth the past five or more years not having one of these available with a fiber optic front sight and sponsoring a shooter and generating interest.

Wilson got Beretta to make the brig slide guns again.

A railed version of the EII frame is basically the M9A1 frame.

But he had the trigger guards rounded like very early Berettas.

It is a confusing gun.

Nice but confusing.

Elite 2 has standard trigger guard, grips, mag release and dust cover. It also has front cocking serrations.

The Wilson has rounded trigger guard, G10 grips, extended mag release and light rail. No FCS

That is largely it, but sights are also different:

  • E's had Beretta sights
  • E2's also had .290" Novak sights, though some had Beretta sights.
  • BrigTacs (Wilson guns) have the .290 Wilson rear sight and a tritium night sight.

Additionally, magazine releases:

  • E's had std. low (92FS style) metal release
  • E2's had a metal extended magazine release with a small button (looks the same as a 92FS, but longer) Some were checkered, most were not.
  • BrigTac have the extended Beretta or Wilson "large button"-shaped metal release.

(I don't mind any of them - though I find the Wilson unit a bit too big...)

Lastly, the lanyard/mainspring cap is slightly different:

  • E's & E2 had/have a flush metal cap.
  • BrigTacs have a metal lanyard loop cap.

(They all work alright... After a lot of beating the flush caps get stuck. Ask me how I know... ^_^ )

The real win, IMHO, is that Wilson is now supporting the Beretta's and doing awesome trigger work. I've been in a "happy place" ever since Wilson came out with the BrigTacs again...

Is it just me, or did Beretta get on board with "lightened slides" before it was the cool thing to do?

"Is that my hand burning as I grabbed the barrel?", he thought to himself while clearing out the malfunction.

He cursed his luck again, "Damn it! It is my hand burning! Should've practiced that slingshot technique more by the rear of the slide!"
