3chux
Talked with Hodgdon today... they have a warning about using TG in .40. I won't get this right but words to the effect of "if your bullet is not fully suspended in the chamber we don't advise using it." I shoot an H&K .40 USP compact for targets and my carry weapon. Anyone see any issues with using TG? Seems that a lot of folks use this powder with no problems. Thanks, 3chux
XRe
Perhaps they said a "fully supported" chamber??? I have no clue what a "suspended" chamber is If yes, their point is that TG in .40 - esp. short loaded .40 - is going to generate pressures on the high end of the scale for .40. A chamber that doesn't fully support the case at the back/bottom might allow the case to blow out under full pressure, thus causing potential damage to your and/or your gun. A fully supprted chamber allows you to load at those higher pressures more safely. Glocks, for instance, do not have a fully supported chamber in .40... I don't know about your USP.... 3chux
Thanks, I'll call H&K and see what they say. You are correct, it was "fully supported chamber." 3chux
