Why not open-tip/hollow-point 50 bmg bullets?

Why aren't there open-tip/hollow-point 50 bmg bullets on the market for FCSA type shooting?

I think most of them (the serious ones) use lathe turned solids of a bore rider design

Most target bullets in other calibers have a small meplat HP and FCSA shooters could possibly benefit from a similar design. However, its not surprising that this type bullet is not readily available. A 50 is a.military round and was designed to penetrate on hard targets. Every bullet I have ever seen had a full metal jacket design. The round has a niche in the market and is becoming more popular, but in the overall scheme of things it's still a fringe round in sport shooting. I think its just too costly to become a mainstream caliber, but maybe one of the reloading manufacturers will come around to it eventually.

Issues trying to get the big assed jacket made and be as consistent as a solid is why you don't see many decent OTM designs.

Most of the guys winning 1,000 yard bench rest matches with 50s are shooting solids or the Hornady AMAX.

For the 750 AMAX it should not be too hard to change the design of the tip to HP.
