shotgunone
Read back thru the forums, seems like the reports beginning about mid summer of 2015 are favorable on the RTS2. Have all the issues with reliability been worked out? Are the sights holding up and preforming well now? I currently have the upright STI mount on my Trubor but would like to go to something closer to the bore. I bought the Cheely horizontal setback mount for my Cmore but never did like how it felt to me on the gun, too much off to my left side plus I don't use a racker so that presented some more problems. I was looking at getting the Cheely mount for the RTS2 and the sight but have been waiting to see if everything is worked out. If any of you have made the switch I'm talking about, how do you like it? If you did and switched back to the upright, why? Thanks Edited November 17, 2015 by shotgunone
jnr88
I've only been shooting open 6 weeks but my 8 MOA RTS2 has been 100% reliable.
tcazes
I shoot with several people who love it and have had it 100%. I'm saving up right now. I am dying to get one!!!
Garmil
I have an updated one that is working great.
ShadoFann
Make sure you get the RTS2 with the clear lense and 8 MOA dot. That is supposed to be the latest generation. I have 1 on both of my 9 major guns. Over 10k on my main gun. So far 100% reliable on both. I hope they continue to stay that way because I'm very happy with that set up. shotgunone
Good to hear things are working out. I was leaning towards the 6 moa version of the RTS2 since that is what my current Cmore has. Is there problems with RTS2's that have dots sizes other than 8 MOA? BeerBaron
I think the reason many recommend 8 MOA is that the RTS2 is not as bright/big as regular cmore dots. So in fact the 8 MOA RTS2 will more closely resemble the 6 MOA Cmore slide ride.
JMike
I've sent one RTS2 back for repair and I'll be sending another (different) one back sometime this week. I love the dot but hate the reliability. Both are mounted on a different 38SC pistols. Edited November 18, 2015 by JMike
shotgunone
JMike are these older models say 1 or 2 years old? I'm just curious as I know the long thread shows problems back in 2012 I believe when they brought them out but not much since about June or July of 2015. shotgunone
Sorry I'm not trying to start another thread on reviewing the sight about being good vs bad. I just noticed in reading other threads in this forum, that it looks like the problems related to earlier version may have been remedied with sights built recently within this past year. Seems like comments on recent sights is that they are working out better than those from the beginning. Just trying to confirm that the newest sight have less issues than the earlier ones. Thanks for sharing those experiences on the latest sights. Edited November 19, 2015 by shotgunone
Nibbles
Mine is a couple of years old and has the blue tinted lens. Working great so far. Seems to be hit and miss with the older ones, some are good and some are bad. I have no idea about the failure rate of the new ones.
ipscjoe
Can someone clarify a question for me. When you lock the lock screw down can the adjustment screws still turn? Thought someone said that it locks the internal works but not the screws themselves?
1911A12011
I have the new version of RTS2 (with a clearer lense) and it's 100%. I am shooting open gun with 172 Power Factor and I like it better that the 90 degree C-more. I am planning to change all my red dot sights to the new version of RTS2. alma
I picked up a SIG Sauer Romeo 3 last week and someone pointed out that it looks very similar to the RTS2. http://www.opticsplanet.com/sig-sauer-sor31001.html Any idea where the RTS is made? I have the the Romeo 3 mounted on my MPX right now and so far it's looking like an excellent upgrade over the Cmore railway that I had on it previously.
