Gunsmith accepting work?

Brownell's has a group of apprentice gunsmiths that aren't charging labor, just parts. Trying to grow that part of the business. Guy named Jay was at a local match this past weekend passing the word. If you're interested, I think they'd enjoy small jobs from the stuff he was taking about.

I don't think I'd let anyone "learn" on any of my guns!

I'm assuming you wouldn't send them your unicorn custom gun. But fitting a barrel is a relatively non invasive job that would be backed by deep corporate pockets if done incorrectly.

fitting a barrel is open heart surgery on a 1911. it IS the heart of the gun. its the reason everything else is there. You cant take barrel fitting too seriously, imo
