The middle finger of the strong/shooting hand. The gun's weight puts pressure and drives the two contact areas (the area right before where the trigger guard is attached) into the middle finger. The middle finger also goes across that area when I readjust after the reload.

It's not too bad if you only do it once. But if you keep on doing it (as in repetitive practice) it can start to hurt.

It's why the Tango Down grip has that little point knub in the front.

The front strap also extends upward and covers the sharp trigger guard lugs, preventing painful abrasion of the index finger after rapid rifle movement.

I don't know why they indicate the index finger. It's the middle finger that gets messed up.

Just wondering how the magpul does as a "gapper".
