rootacres
Ok so I am trying to help a friend out who has a Sig p226 Enhanced Elite. To our understanding to remain production legal you need your gun weight to come in no more that 2 oz over the factory posted weight. So how does this work if there are other models of the p226 that have the exact same external dimensions but are a higher weight. Would he have the leeway to his gun come in at a weight like some of the other p226 models being that his gun is essentially the same? thanks for the help
clawson2011
It is two ounces over whatever is the weight shown for his specific model on the list at the link http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-NROI-production-gunlist.php
JAFO
The P226 E2 version is on the list, but the Enhanced Elites are not. However, the "Enhanced" just signifies a grip panel change to E2 grips, which is allowed. Probably why the Enhanced Elite models aren't listed separately. He will need to use the Elite or Elite Stainless weight specific to his caliber: P226 Elite .357 Sig (34.2 oz.) P226 Elite 40 S&W (34.2 oz.) P226 Elite 9mm (34.2 oz.) P226 Elite Dark 9/40/357Sig (34 oz.) P226 Elite Stainless 40 S&W (42.2 oz.) P226 Elite Stainless 9mm (42.2 oz.)
waktasz
Does his say enhanced elite on the slide? If so, it's not on the list and you're boned.
JAFO
I think they just say "226 Elite". The only difference between an Enhanced Elite and a regular Elite is a grip panel change.
waktasz
I'd think the guy at chrono is going to use the Elite weight listed in the book then. If your friend's gun is 2+ ounces over that listed weight you can get USPSA to add your specific gun model to the list, there are forms to fill out and you have to get it signed by the manufacturer.
