Justinmac13
As a new CZ owner I am wanting to add a few mags so I can continue to shoot production. I see CZCustoms has factory 18 rounders but are pretty pricey, I like the way they fit the gun though with the base pad extended down a little ways. Some of the Mec-gars look to be flush mount and I'd rather have all of them be the same length. Does anyone know the best place to buy the factory style 18 rounders, I measured them last night to be sure they would fit inside the 6"x8-15/16 box and they seem too fit with these mags as there was some that apparently did not. ArrDave
Oak Hill Guns has them for like $36 each.
CZ85Combat
Why factory mags? Try Mac-Gar mags...oh by the way they make the factory mags for a lot of the CZ guns & a lot of other gun manufactures. Greg Cote has some of the best $$ around. http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=130&zenid=cc11a99da180df203e1b34a9086bc02a
JayDee
Mec Gars are excellent. Be sure to get the 17 round mags if you want to remain production legal - the 19 round ones are too large for the USPSA box. If you get the factory 18 rounders, order some Wolff +10% mag springs to ensure long term feeding. The factory springs are a little weak after a while. Justinmac13
ArrDave, Thank you. Just placed my order, must have gotten the last 2 because it would not let me buy 3.

Justinmac13
Do the 17 or 10 round mecgars mount flush or do they have the baseplate that extends about a 1/2" below the mag well? Or do you have to buy that plate as an add on. I currently just use the stock plastic ones but like the extra length that hangs out
vixty
No the MEcgars don't have the extended basepads. Most people buy springer precision basepads which are 15 bucks each.

Darqusoull13
Beautiful pistol Quack. I'm in a similar boat as the OP. I think I've finally decided to go with the CZ SP01 Shadow. To stay production legal, can one generally use the 17 round Mec Gar magazines with SP base pads?
Quack
Thanks!!! Yes, the MG17 and SP pads are legal.
Quack
BTW, here's the difference in weight. Used the MG pad to zero the scale. The difference between the MG and SP pad.

Quack
No problem. And for reference, here's a pic of the ShockBottle pads on the CZC (MG17) plated mag. I like the SP pads better. Edited September 4, 2015 by Quack
