Kevin Kline
What's the most popular powder(s) everyone is using for 9mm Production in USPSA. My buddy will be shooting it out of his Sig and is starting to reload. He wanted to know the most popular type loads for 9mm Production. Merlin Orr
Walmart White Pac... Titegroup and Precision 147s for me.
sargenv
I use 4.4 gr of Titegroup under a 124 gr plated West Coast bullet. I seat them long since my Para mags allow it, but this is a listed load for 9mm and it does not exceed published data. I get about 1150 fps from my 5" barreled LDA. Carlos
Many of us run 147 grn bullets for Production. Follow the book loads for Titegroup if you want a safe, dependable, soft shooting Production load to start out with. Once your friend has been loading 9mm for a good long time & has experience, have him search around on be.com for other load info. I think that Titegroup is the most safe, competitive 147 Minor load for the 1st time or novice reloader. Don't be tempted to use a load not on the books at this stage. Regards, D.C. Precision40
3.8 grains of Titegroup with a 124fmj gives me about 128pf. It's an excellent powder and is super soft. The only drawback is that it is extremely dirty at that low a p/f.
EricW
Titegroup, without a doubt for 9mm.
revchuck
There seems to be a pattern here... I use Titegroup, 4.2 grains under a 125 grain Zero JHP loaded to 1.14" goes about 1050 fps from my CZ-75B and Beretta Brigadier. However, if you're going to load jacketed bullets, you can buy ammo for little more than the cost of components. I get Blazer locally for $3.84/box; WalMart sells Winchester white box for $11/100 rounds. Both rounds are dependable and accurate enough. DougCarden
Titegroup, VV320, and for the ultimate loads, VV310 with 147s....Although W231 and #7 aint too bad either......

DJPoLo
Sure, I'll chime in: Titegroup and 147gr CMJ's or JHP's. -Chet

rhyrlik
I like Unique and WSF. The latter has a very pleasant report. Both shoot great with either 124s or 147s. WSF will give lower velocities, however. Accuracywise, both will shoot into 1" at 50 feet from a Sig P226.
MoNsTeR
147's and a fast powder. (N310 is the best but be careful!!!)

Turtle
I'm using 231 right now with 147gr jhp's just because I had a bunch of left over from the .45 days (yes, it's old powder). It's given me some fairly impressive results...
Reload'n' Lizard
I'm using 3.4-3.5 gr of Tightgroup, 147 gr Montana Gold bullets. WSP primers, and Federal brass. 1.130" OAL to fit into Glock mags. It's very soft shooting and has a very consistent 130-131 PF. LIZARD OUT
harald
121 grain Hornady HAP, and vv
Ted Murphy
3.7 Clays and a 124 grain Jacketed Round nose got a very consistant 1025fps, which is cutting a bit close but a nice load anyway. Someone gave me 8# of clays so I've been using it. Ted
Squishy
3.0 to 3.3 grs clays and 147 jhp Zero bullet. Very soft recoil.
