Dustin Lohof
What other section ... open pistol...just kidding. I thought the discussion on the Ruger Precision Rifle would be found in the Precision Rifle section ... guess I was mistaken.

michael1778
What other section ... open pistol...just kidding. I thought the discussion on the Ruger Precision Rifle would be found in the Precision Rifle section ... guess I was mistaken. We probably should have moved it to this subsection, I agree. Given that my son and my older daughter suddenly expressed interest in rifles, I may be in the market for these in a few months (6.5 Creedmoor definitely). Or my daughter could surprise me again (after asking to go to the range) and take a shine to shotguns or 3-gun. I won't make any more assumptions. I clearly don't know what interests her these days! 72stick
What do you guys think about the Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor ? Anybody have one? I just ran the calculations through the JBM online ballistic calculator for the Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor, 140 grain A-max on a std day at an altitude of 850' with 41.5g of RE-17 @ 2700ft/s. The 6.5 CM easily stays above 1.2 Mach at 1000 yards. Even if the production rifles only get 1 MOA, that's an awesome potential for long range. Rob01
The Ruger gets 2810fps from the Hornady factory 140 AMAX load so it will reach out there and stay supersonic. Reports on accuracy have been very good so far.
