FTDMFR
TUESDAY 5/3/15Dry Fire Trigger control at speed10 mins Freestyle, SHO, and WHO WHO is looking a lot better lately Moving reloads30 mins Three count metronome drill Started at 75bpm (2.4s) and worked down to 171bpm (1.05s) Made a target setup so I can practice 90deg,180deg, and lateral reloads, in both directions, in sequence I figured out that I'm not actually holding the gun lower when reloading while moving. I'm holding the gun the same way with respect to my torso, but I'm bending down at the waist when moving, which drops the gun below my line of sight. I tried reloading with the gun higher with respect to my body/same height with respect to the world, and it seemed to work better. I'll keep experimenting. FTDMFR
MONDAY 5/9/16 Dry Fire Trigger control at speed10 minutes, freestyle/SHO/WHO Moving reloads20 mins Started at 75bpm (2.4s), worked up to 171bpm (1.05s) The hardest moving reload right now is turning 180deg towards my strong side. In general, my moving reloads are looking better. I'm holding the gun higher and moving more explosively when reloading. Since this is a huge weakness in my game right now, especially since I shoot Production, I'll keep working on these every dry fire session for the next couple of months. I want 1 second reloads to become my new normal. Edited May 10, 2016 by FTDMFR

FTDMFR
THURSDAY 6/16/16 After five weeks off due to work travel and illness, I'm back at it. Dry Fire Trigger control at speed10 mins, freestyle Blake Drill, 10 yards, with metronome30 mins L-R and R-L Started at 75 bpm (.80s splits) Worked up to 150 bpm double time (.20s splits) ObservationsPlayed around with target focus. Will try more in live fire. Caught myself getting lazy with calling the shot before the transitions. Not good. Production Nationals is in 8 weeks. I better start working. MiscellaneousI'm officially a Production Master! I'm currently sitting at 90%. I hope the next 5% aren't as hard as the first 90%. FTDMFR
THURSDAY 6/23/2016 Dry Fire Match mode drill30 mins Two positions, 6 feet apart At each position, one partial Classic target at 15 yards with only upper A showing, one 6 yard open Classic target on each side Started at 10s, worked up to 24s NotesThe point of this drill is to practice combining front sight discipline on tough shots with explosive movement in between positions. I tend to move slowly when shooting tough targets, so this drill is meant to fix that. MiscellaneousI got a wide-angle webcam to use with the LASR software. It pretty much doubles the angle of view, which is great for drills like this one with lots of movement. I also picked up the target template and scoring plugins. No more calculating HF by hand! I can't believe I didn't get these sooner.
