mpearce
Si I am getting a new VM Tactical to replace my 1100 for 3-gun. The one thing that I am trying to figure out which tube I want to put on the magazine. I have the 22" barrel and I would like to get to 9+1. Since I do not have the gun yet I am hoping that one of does and can measure form where the nut attaches to the main magazine at the end of the forearm, to the end of the 22" barrel, or can you tell me what Nordic MXT tube I need to get to the 9+
z40acp
I am about to receive my VM Tactical from Remington also. I do not know much about 3 gunning. May I ask why you want 9+1 and not say 10+1?
mpearce
Personal Preference I guess, Most matches only allow 8+1 but after starting you can fill to capacity. the 9+1 "usually" extends past the end of the barrel by a few inches
AFguywhoshoots
Extending past the end of the barrel isn't a big deal. I have the Carbon Arms Versa Tube on mine. I would consider this as it helps with some of the POI issues with slugs.
theKenny
If you are set on 9+1 how about just adding a +1 cap? https://www.shooterssource.com/shotgun-performance/shooters-source-1-2-mxt-extension-caps.html I have a +6 tube for 10 and the +2 cap brings it to 12 The +5 should give 9 Measuring instructions here https://www.shooterssource.com/shotgun-performance/nordic-components-12-ga-shotgun-mxt-tube-extensions.html
Iowashooter
I run a 12 round tube on my VM with at 22" barrel and it has never been an Issue.
bigblock455
I have a 15 rnd tube on my VM 22", no problems
T Bacus
A 9 round tube is a bad idea if you are going to be loading duces or quads. An even number of shells in your hand, and an odd number in the tube, means you'll often be left holding one round that won't fit in the gun. Also with a loaded chanber start you can load two more after the buzzer. I tried 9+ when I got my VM but quickly changed to 10+, it just works better. Wild Gene
One more for a 10 round Nordic tube. You can buy one from Benny Hill, or I am sure there are more elsewhere, but Benny knows the best length to cut the replacement spring. wg
dogtired
I just bought a plus two to get up to 12. To quote a semi-pro shooter I did a match with "if you are going to load two, you might as well load four". Hard logic to argue.
