Light primer strike on 9mm major load with failure to fire CK Arms Bla

Foxbat, look at the rear of your firing pin. If it is mushroomed that could be the source of your problem. I've had this happen on two firing pins and replacing the fp immediately solved the problem.

I had the same problem this past weekend, light strikes on CCI 500 small pistol primers.

I changed it to a ISMI 19lb spring last night and an extended SV firing pin. Based on how hard the hammer is falling now, there is no way the spring in it was a 19lb. There is a very noticeable difference in the hammer fall.

It now does it with authority. I tweeked the sear spring to get the pull back to 2ish pounds, it is a tad heavier than before but i can live with it.

This is on a CK Arms Thunder Open gun.

Just to add the resolution to the OP's thread...bobby sent her a new ISMI 19lb main spring. The hammer falls with MUCH more force now. I'm thinking they got a batch of mislabeled mainsprings
