Having something that will pop any primer out there is much smarter in my book. My Shadow 2 and 85C both work fine with 11.5 spring on manufacturer reloads which I highly doubt are Federal primers. race1911
....have not tried anything but Federal, I know they go bang every time in all my guns so that's what I always use
Gooldylocks
So then would you say get an 11.5 and the extended pin? I'm just trying to h3lp him get the best/lightest trigger per dollars spent. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Most likely the 11.5# will work, but every gun is different. Some people are getting 8# to work reliably, but I was getting a lot of failure to fire. Gooldylocks
Okay cool. Always better to err on the side of too much spring. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
jester121
Cajun sells a 12# if you want to straddle the ditch. EDIT: Never mind, the HS-12000 is the 11.5# Edited April 21, 2017 by jester121
dave33
My 9mm P09 has a Cajun race hammer, extended FP, 13lb hammer spring, and pops all primers reliably. I still load federals for matches but all practice ammo is loaded with mostly S&B primers, but Win, and CCI have been totally reliable too. This being said, I load on a Loadmaster and seat primers very deep with a slight pre-crush.
eerw
Better to spend $20 and save the headaches. Trying to make the action better and doing it on the cheap is not a winning combination
