Tripp mags / Dawson base pad

I have Tripp 9mm mags and put Dawson base pads on... In dry fire I'm dropping mags onto carpet laid down in my garage and frequently finding the base pad coming halfway off or all the way off when I drop the mags. Seems like the retaining plate inside isn't doing a good job of staying put when it hits the deck.

Anyone having this issue? Know of a fix?c15b851c1afd6381f33576c5b59c53b9.jpg

Are the retaining plates fully seated into the hole the base plate? I sometimes need to fiddle with mine to get them to go together fully. Look down into the disassembly hole and make sure the raised button is fully up into the hole.

I have some on my wilsons and, though they are new with little use, they are doing it slightly as well. To be fair, my old 47's with Wilson manufacture dx pads did it to. I figure it's just a design quirk of the mags when you step away from the old school plates. FWIW I reserve my ETM's for match only and do my practice and dry fire with my old 47's. Rather beat those up so the ETM's work properly when it counts.
