Endurokids
Before I get started, I know this is not a competition pistol, but I love shooting this little J frame. That said, I shot it during our revolver friendly match and had a hell of a time ejecting the spent cases on the moon clips. I reload on a Dillon 550 and used assorted brass that I checked, in the tightest hole in the cylinder. Any ideas on a fix? Different brass? Ream the cylinders? I don't remember having this problem with factory ammo though. I wont make a habit of competing with it, but as a CC or home defense pistol, it should not be an issue ejecting the brass. PatJones
Use slower powder, possibly avoid starline brass. Please see the recent thread on the similarly moonclipped 929.
Hi-Power Jack
I have trouble ejecting brass with my J-frame because the ejector rod is a little short, and the latch gets in the way.
Endurokids
Thanks for the replies. Is it normal to have 2 out of 5 chambers tighter than the others? Should I have something done about them or leave them alone? Local gunsmith or send back to S&W?
revoman
Quick ream job will solve the problem. Just sent one to TK Custom for a 627. Sent and returned all in a weeks time. Only have to send the cylinder to TK.
