Need Inexpensive Air for Cleaning Bench and Press

I load about 300 rounds a week. About once a week, I pick up the primers that didn't go down the chute of my 550 and then blow down the bench and the press. I had a drawer full of half full "canned air" cans from various electronics cleaning purchases. I'm almost empty on the last one.

I'd like to find an inexpensive compressor, with the right fittings, to be able to blow things down. I am not enough of a do it yourselfer that I need something fancy. Any recommendations?

I use one a friend gave me that came out of a dental office. Super quet and has all the fancy gadgets already built into it.

HF has a pancake compressor on sale for $39 I noticed the other day, it would work for that job too.

+1 on the pancake compressor. It works great, its Small and it stores nicely under my bench.

The pancake compressors from Harbor Freight work well, and you can use them for filling tires when needed. Can't beat their money back gaurantee http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/air-compressors/3-gal-13-hp-100-psi-oilless-pancake-air-compressor-61615.html I will also say that that style goes on sale often. And the extended warranty is worth it for a walk in and carry a new one out. Here is a web site for Harbor Freight coupons. 20 to 25% off the sale price. http://slickdeals.net/f/1276399-Harbor-Freight-Coupon-Thread For PC users there are coupons toward the bottom of the page, that you can print out. I have just started switching over to Mac and can't find them on it yet.

I've been thinking about getting one of these:

I've been looking for a portable canned air solution for a while. I did find some refillable cans but I have heard it is tough to get the pressure just right. There is also a video on youtube about making your own.

If anyone has the first one or has made the second one, let us know how it worked out for ya...Thanks

I have posted a coupon wiki site link in the past for HF coupons. They updated the site and the coupon attachments can longer be found. Well this one has them all and for the curious even the inside track club coupons. But be warned that unless you have the card you can't use those coupons. But you can get an idea of what they are and if you think it is worth it.

Go with the compressor. I have found no better way to clean a gun than to soak everything with solvent, give it a few strokes with a toothbrush, and then hit it with a burst of 125psi shop air. Every particle from every crevice just goes away.

That alone is worth having a compressor in your gun room.
