PKT1106
I was able to get out today with some CFE loads I made up for testing. Made 20 of each charge, but some did not register on the chrono. There were strong wind gusts that may have moved the chrono a little bit and not pick up a shot here and there. CFE Pistol 180gr Xtreme RNFP 1.180" OAL Tula Small Pistol Primers Assorted Brass Ambient temp was about 50F in the sun. CFE 5.7gr - 948 942 964 958 973 942 966 998 948 924 959 974 964 965 934 940 957 967 929 CFE 5.8gr - 992 962 1010 992 1009 978 977 968 979 1000 968 981 987 1019 958 976 994 986 1009 970 CFE 5.9gr - 988 1001 1002 987 1012 1055 1023 1010 1036 1019 1010 1010 1001 1011 985 999 986 1000 1002 951 CFE 6.0gr - 1010 1034 1020 1006 1013 1015 1013 1005 1021 1017 1021 1017 995 1013 1013 1003 1011 1010 1008 977 The 5.7gr charge was VERY soft for a major PF. The numbers get better from a standard deviation standpoint as we get into the 5.9-6.0gr charges, but they were smokey, even with plated bullets. The 5.7gr load cycled my Edge just fine with a 12# recoil spring. I can't comment on how clean it was because I did not have a cleaning kit with me and I proceeded to do a practice session with 400 rounds of my WST load. Pretty decent accuracy for my Edge at 7yds (where I put the target for chrono). I am going to load up more at 5.7gr and try them at speed for a match. Richc2048
That's good to know. I just made some myself 5.5, 5.6, 5.7 5.8 out of my tanfoglio witness elite. I wonder how close they'll be. Mine will be at 1.135 OAL
