New @ This ... Do Race Guns use Tungsten Guides?

I'm confused ... slides are lightened for race guns ... but what about the spring guide, on something like a Glock34 ?

Some do some don't. As for adding weight it's stationary weight not reciprocating weight you wanna add

I don't. My 2011 Open weighs over 48 ozs so there is no need for it.

I don't, I shoot a Open glock. Not sure what it weights, probably around 40 oz lol.

I've also seen tungsten rods break. I've never seen a SS rod break.

They not only add weight they are way smoother when cycling so the gun actually feels better

The less reciprocating mass, the faster the gun can cycle.
A heavier gun absorbs recoil, but is slower to transition between targets.

Polymer guns probably need the tungsten rod to add non-reciprocating mass to manage recoil. Steel guns generally don't.

I had one in my open glock 22. I liked it but I also has a SS one and couldn't tell a diff between the two.
