Robert King
I'm trying to build the lightest upper my budget will allow. I'm now at the point I need to pick a BCG and it is down to a Seekins or Voodoo. I have found availability on both and price is very close. Done some reading of the forum and would like some additional feedback comparing the two. Are they both going to deliver comparable reliability? I'll be running a 16" faxon pencil barrel with the full length gas and an adjustable gas block. Will be shooting factory ammo so I won't have the option of tailoring my loads. I have a spare JP silent spring that I'd like to use if it would work well. Any thoughts of that?
BOOM
Thinking this through myself, two things not sure of 1st) which one weighs less, and is it enough to make it worth it over a semi auto BCG 2nd) Will there be more felt recoil with out the adjustable gas block
tnorman
I have the voodoo with a seekins adjustable gas block. I run it with two weights in the buffer and it shoots super soft.
jtaylor996
Last I heard the Seekins wasn't actually very much lower mass than stock...
BOOM
Thanks; Not sure the Voodoo is all that much lighter they claim 20%, But the carrier is $133.oo I think thats your best bet
TonytheTiger
JP. A little extra money well spent and it comes with years worth of a perfect track record free of charge.
tnorman
I read somewhere...maybe here on the lmos weight thread that the voodoo is 7.3 oz. I don't have a scale to verify that with mine though.
Pat Miles
Why not call both companies and ask? For what it's worth, I agree with Tony el Tigre above.
bbates
My voodoo was 9.5oz completed with bolt etc I think 7.5 for just bcg
