selecw
The fiber optic rod on my front sight falls out after every 300 rounds or so. I've tried lots of different ways of heating the ends and flattening them while hot. The front sight is CZ Custom. Aside from this issue, I like the sight. Anone have similar issues, or theories on why it's happening? Thanks
praetorian97
Most likely just installing them incorrectly? Take a look at this vid. You really have to pull put in against the first bulb while you heat the other side. See pic. Edited March 6, 2015 by praetorian97
selecw
I am doing that. I have installed fiber sights on all my other guns (including my other SP-01 and CTS) and none have ever broken. Only on this particular gun.
praetorian97
Try a larger bulb? Is the optic hole the same as the fiber diameter?

mgardner
I put a drop of superglue on it where the underside of the fiber contacts the metal and they last for a year or more. I think it stops the vibration.
bockerSV
Try just letting the heat fit it tight for you. I feel like pushing on the end while it's still drying won't allow it to be as strong.
