bmiller
I want to make a rear express sight for my shotgun out of aluminum. Can I use a 2 flute, notched point, carbide drill for machining the notch? I was going to make several and start out milling a groove down a piece of aluminum. Thanks Edited February 28, 2015 by bmiller
pyrrhic3gun
My response would be "probably not". I've seen some crazy stuff done with improvised tools, so I won't say no. What diameter drill are we talking about. If it's not very big, I would guess it will snap like a twig.
Pat Miles
How long is the cut going to be? Is this only going to be used for the V notch in the sight? Is this going to be used on a milling machine?
Matt Cheely
$29 on a carbide chamfer mill would probably be a better choice
