375 Reaper reloading ?

Malodave

Recommended Posts

I have ordered my dies to reload 375 Reaper from 308 brass. Picked up the conversion kit and quick change kit from my local Dillon dealer.

My question is, does anyone know which powder funnel would work the best on my Dillon 650XL?

Thanks,

Malodave

Malodave,

Your best bet for a correct answer would be to give the good folks at Dillon a call or send them a query on their website.

This is the reply from Dillon:

Use the V funnel. Even with that funnel you may need to make and place

a 3/8 inch thick spacer above the powder funnel to cycle the powder measure

correctly. Part #13344.

Thank you!

Malodave,

Did you receive a 375 Reaper barrel? I ordered a 16" barrel for the AR15 platform from Whiskey 3 Precision last November. X-Caliber barrels reported their production run of these barrels was rejected by W3PS, and scrapped. According to X-Caliber, only the bolt action version worked reliably at published velocity. W3PS refuses to give me the name of their new barrel manufacturer so I can't verify if they have an order in place for a functioning AR15 barrel. I have been waiting for the barrel for 5 months and W3PS still reports "In stock", four week delivery on their store page. The fine print does advise another 3-4 week delay but nothing is mentioned about my 5+ months delivery. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE RECEIVED AN AR15 375 REAPER BARREL CAPABLE OF SUPERSONIC VELOCITY? I'm worried that this is a scam but but I have been repeatably threatened with a lawsuit by Mr. John Culpepper of W3PS and I have no real proof. Do your research before buying. It appears their facebook page may be carefully screened to remove bad comments, allegedly. My only comment to that page was deleted.

Please advise of any experience you've had with W3PS and delivery of supersonic capable 375 Reaper AR15 barrels.

Thanks,

They blew the lugs off the AR-15 barrel extensions.

The info I got was that the X-Caliber barrels were improperly reamed and Satern/Liberty recently got it right. John Culpepper of W3PS claims to have the new barrels in stock and promised to ship me one today. I'll keep you informed and will let you know how my build goes, if I ever get the new barrel.

I got it! W3PS sent me a stainless 16" AR15 barrel and the machining looks good. I can see it was assembled and test fired at W3PS so it appears to be a proven product though I haven't seen a report on the test results. The exterior finish was just a little rough for my taste but I have a lathe and can easily polish it up to my liking. Unfortunately I'm leaving town for two weeks and won't get to the build until July. Can't wait to see how it performs.

I may have to eat my bad words about W3PS. They could have handled the delay better but in the end it looks like they finally got it right. Hang in there if you have the time, I think this is going to be a killer wildcat!

W3PS shipped me the dies a few months ago. Plenty of .308 brass laying around and I manufacture the cutting jig for .308 wildcats. I'm going to work up a load for Speer 235 grain Hot-Cor to test the limits of the bolt/barrel. Hope to get some help on load data starting point. I have 18 pounds of H110.
