Coated Lead: RN or TC 124gr

I've found with WSF that 4.2gr behind a 124gr bullet produces a soft load that cycles the gun (1911) just fine. I've loaded 124gr RN at 1.169" per Hodgdons and the 124gr TCG at 1.11 (it's a shorter bullet by .05" so I elected to keep the seating death about the same. I'm going to stretch out the OAL on the TCG rounds to see if there is any effect, but all things being equal what differences would I expect to see between the two configurations? Again, we see no problem feeding either round.

Over the chrono I've noticed that the TCG runs a little slow that the RN. So if I were to change I would have to up my charge .1 to .2g or so. So I stuck with the RN less powder shoots the same. But since I've done that test I've moved to the 135gr RN even less powder and very soft shooting.

On a side note the .40 180gr TCG was much slower than the 180gr TC like 80 fps (same gun same load). The groove less look cool in all but I haven't noticed any difference other than they seem to shoot slower. I'm sticking with the grooved bullets.

Per a previous post, I ran an OAL test for 125 RN and FP Bayou Bullets which are coated. The best OAL came out to be 1.130 for the RN, and 1.070 for the FP. This is from 3 different guns, 2 of them used in a Ransom rest. Will be posting updated info after I wring out the new accushadow, but best accuracy with these bullets have been under 1.6". My goal is to try to get 1" at 25 yds with lead coated bullets which is what I get in all my 9mm's with Jacketed bullets.
