BASE772
The P226 Enhanced Elite or the P226 Elite Stainless w/E2 grip. Shooting Limited, Open, and now Single Stack so I'm use to the 40 plus ounce guns. I've owned XDM's and M&P's and had now problem with managing recoil with them. So you think the extra 8oz's of the Elite Stainless would help or hurt vs the alloy frame? I just recently shot my first 226 which had the alloy frame and I felt recoil was very minimal. On a side note I have put a couple hundred rounds through a Carry size P320. Awesome little gun! Just want to use the 226.
Trader
I have the 226SSE . The extra weight is a bonus and the frame rails will hold up much better compared to alloy rails.
spd522
All Around for me. Recoil is very soft in a 46 oz. pistol. Craig
BASE772
I take it the E2 grips can be put on the Elite Stainless? Is the E2 grip a slightly different profile than the grip on a P250/P320? They feel different to me. Thanks for the replys.
JAFO
You can put E2 grips on any P-series gun, but you need the kit, not just the grips. Some people buy an E2 gun and decide they don't like the grips, so they sell the grips but not the other parts. You can use E2 parts with regular grips, but not the other way around. The kit has the grip, a removal tool, an E2-specific hammer strut and corresponding seat, and a decocking lever. JAFO
Top Gun Supply has them listed for $47, but are showing out of stock. You may give them a call to verify. Sig lists them as in stock, but at a ridiculous $75. You may also want to try posting a WTB/WTT ad in the Classifieds over on SigForum.
Folke
Will the E2 kit work on the X-Five Allround older model?
JAFO
I think so, but you might have to relieve some material at the bottom of the grip where the magwell lip is on the frame. And of course, you need an E2 hammer strut and seat.
JWard79
I wouldn't consider the E2 grip into the equation, since it is a low cost easily convertible option. The increased weight of a stainless steel model will help to reduce the felt recoil, but the question you must answer is the cost difference worth it to you. I had purchased the E2 grip for my 226, but switched it back to the factory configuration tonight. Personal reference is the original grip with the short reach trigger (less gap in the grip with the original).
myproverb
My 226 came with e2 grip; and i've also ended-up switching it back to the old-style grip. For me, it's easier to reach the trigger and grab the gun higher, with the original/older grip.
BASE772
Then I going to shoot the original grip for a while then decide from there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rack&roll
I have the E2 grip on my 226 SS Elite and love it. (short fingers) Different strokes, ya know?
Zerwas
I just picked up a new P226 Enhanced Elite. I have had older P226's and P229's and loved them. I REALLY like this new P226 Enhanced Elite though. The slimmer and more ergonomic grip coupled with the much larger beavertail really fits nicely in my hand. The short reset on the trigger is quick as well. While I'm a limited and/or open division guy, if I ever shoot in the production division it'll be with the Enhanced Elite. BASE772
Ended up with an all Stainless 226. Has the E2 grips but would like to try a standard grip as well. I have large hands so shouldn't be a problem.
