Lifeislarge
I was a Dish Network customer for a couple years and in December I cancelled my service in response to their dispute with FOX news. No FOX, no DISH. I had AT&T come over and install U-Verse which really didn't impress me especially after having to deal with their crap website and Customer Service over the phone a couple times. A couple weeks ago DISH contacts me with an apology for the FOX issues and an invitation to come back. They gave me an offer I couldn't refuse.... No contract, free HD for life, free movie channels for 3 months, and....... a $700 gift card to offset any penalties I may incur by breaking a contract with my replacement provider. What worked the best in my favor was that I had no contract with AT&T (the TV was viewed as an upgrade to my internet service which was also out of contract) so I get the whole $700 and after doing the math I'll be getting free TV for a year with no contract and no additional fees. They even replaced and relocated my dish and upgraded all my receivers. Sometimes a hassle turns into a blessing. Thanks DISH, and FOX news for giving me a great start to 2015!!! I get free TV for life because I discovered an ancient invention called an antenna. I get about 150 channels. If there is something on one of the Pay channels like Fox sports or similar I find it on one of the many free sites on the internet and watch it on the computer. Sarge
I didn't get quite that good of a deal but then again all I did was threaten to leave. To me Dish is like Toyota. You can't beat their products like DVR's Hopper, blah blah. But I hate dealing with them for anything. They are shyster's deep down but the product is just too good to abandon. Toyotas are fantastic trouble free cars but the dealerships are just so damn shady I hate going. Maybe that's why I keep them for about 15 years. Too painful to go back for a replacement! fastlane604
May I be so bold as to ask you what Dish charges you? We are in a never ending battle with Cox Cable over our subscription. They raise our fee, my wife called and threatened to quit. They knocked off $50 for several months then raised us $11. She called and threatened to quit again. They knocked off $20 for six months. It drives us crazy.

Alaskapopo
I hate bias news networks like Fox. Rather its conservative slant or a liberal slant I don't want it in my news. I want objective reporting of the facts.Pat
Steve RA
Good luck with that, they are all slanted, one way or the other.

Rob D
Good luck with that, they are all slanted, one way or the other. +1. The trick is to get news from multiple sources so you can sift through the BS and find the facts. Sounds like you made out like a bandit on the Dish deal. That's awesome. Usually when large corporations fight, customers get hosed. Glad to hear it came out the other way for once.

echotango
I dropped them a couple years ago when they dropped FX for over 1 month. They were also overpriced. They of course offered me a cheaper deal and I told them why they didn't call me to offer that before? No response.....
