enrico
hello folks, just came back on this forum since a long while ago. But I have a question since I bought a S&W 610 in 10 mm auto with a 6,5" barrel. I would like to have a nice recipe for this caliber, preferably with VV powder and major PF. Somebody any ideas. Best regards, Eric Cornelissen Edited January 18, 2015 by enrico

mcb
If your loading for competition most people use 40S&W brass rather than 10mm Auto brass.Brass: 40S&WBullet: 180 CMJ Montana GoldPowder: Vihtavuori N340 5.40grPrimer: Federal Small PistolOAL 1.147Velocity: 970.5Power Factor: 174.7Brass: 40S&WBullet: 180 CMJ Montana GoldPowder: Vihtavuori N320 5.30grPrimer: Federal Small PistolOAL 1.195Velocity: 948.0Power Factor: 170.6Both of these loads where chrono'ed in my S&W 610 6.5"I have a several of other loads I have used for competition but those are the two I had utilizing Vihtavuori powder. I have some 10mm Auto loads also but there are pretty hot for hunting, not competition.
bountyhunter
Yep, police depts use a lot of .40SW so "once fired" .40 brass abounds by the truckload. I didn't even know anybody was still making 10mm ammo..... it is awfully hot. That was the main gripe on it: the FBI agents couldn't shoot it as well because the recoil was horrible (or so they said at the time).
blaster113
Most factory 10mm is on the mild side, if you can even find any.
