TPMINAZ
The pin in the front of the rear sight broke. This is a small pin with a small indent. Springfield sent a new pin but it's not going in as expected. (Great customer service by the way.) This pin has the small indent i mentioned so I am thinking that is part of the problem. Does anyone know a trick or procedure to get this new pin in?
Loves2Shoot
It is easier if you make a slave pin. I use a roll pin instead of the factory pin.
Out of Ammo
I agree with the idea of the slave pin. I tried to use the factory pin, but had a difficult time getting the pin in. I used a roll pin from the hardware store and it worked much better.
DagoRed
What size roll pin? I have an XDm I haven't shot yet, would like to put this in the knowledge/reference bank Thanks Red
texasref
You said the pin broke, but did you get it out? If not that may be whats keeping you from getting the new one in. Just take the replacement pin with you and get the appropriate size roll pin. By their design they work much better.
Out of Ammo
The pin is 1.98mm or 5/64. It's 3/4" long.

Out of Ammo
There's a video on replacing or installing the rear site on the XDM on YouTube.
