I have been reading everything I can get my hand s on about 3 gun, reviewing tips, suggestions and talk with folks at the local range and gun shop I think I have an ok set up for shot gun (m2 tactical), rifle( stag arms 3G), hand gun (sig p226 40). Guest Posted December 29, 2014 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Welcome and yes, you are in the right place to find out about shooting matches! Steamboat Springs is a cool place. Spent some time there at Billy Kidd Race Camps and got some personal instruction from Billy Kidd about skiing the trees. Ironically, one of the things I learned from the tree skiing session was look at the holes, not the trees (duh) because if you look at the trees you are almost certain to hit one. I use the same philosophy when shooting targets - look at the brown paper, not the white...works most the time. Anyway, the aspens in winter are beautiful. Good memories. There are several 3Gun/Shotgun/Rifle matches along the front range as well as a few majors. The one at WCFW (see the ECO USPSA website) is pretty close to you too, and usually fun. Raton is the most technically challenging, and also quite a drive from you.
