Bob Hostetter
Anyone tried milling a Bomar style rear sight into a 5" M&P yet?
StealthyBlagga
Might be tricky due to the internals that are located close to the existing sight dovetail (notably the striker block safety mechanism).
wgj3
I'm intrigued by the concept, but why? Will it sit lower than the existing adjustable rear sight options?
mike cyrwus
anythings possible, but dawson adjustables make me say, why bother
SonOfSpartans
The Dawson adjustable works well. Just be sure to use a tall enough front sight. I put this setup on for m'lady and it shoots high. Sight listed two options for front sight and I chose the shorter......oooops.
Nick S
Just curious...what height front are you using? Im using a .285 on my 5" gun and wish I had a shorter front. My rear seems to sit really high in the slide when zeroed with every thing from 115s to 147s.

Nick, when I purchased this setup the target rear was listed for use with the .265 or .305 front fiber optic on a standard pistol. I went with the .265 tall. With the Dawson target rear in the fully lowered position the gun shoots two inches high at 15 yards. Since I am used to a combat hold with a fiber optic I tend to shoot it high...... I think the .285 or .305 would have worked a little better on this gun.
Bob Hostetter
It makes the sight picture match the rest of my pistols. And I don't like the way the Dawson sit's a little higher and the notch seems shallower then the BoMar style. I done it on XD's and Glock's and it's very doable on the M&P. wgj3
I would be in for trying it then.
