Your welcome..............things are still going along very well. New smaller gravel is being put on the bay floors this year, more walls and new shed for the additional walls are being added to the "To Do List'.

It looks like next Tuesday or Wednesday night we are sampling food choices for the range so cross your fingers for the sampling crew......it's a tough job but someone has to do it.

Herb,

Squads have been done/assigned (that was a huge work process....ughhh). Just finished last week. We have you down for shooting left handed, revolver, minor, ladies super squad..........which is turning out to be a very competitive division as we have moved everyone who has given us the least amount of grief into that Division.

Just kidding..........as we get closer to the match date, we MAY post some stages and squad matrix. Key word is may.........they guys are busy and it adds to the intrigue of the match. 18 stages at 28 rounds apiece.....9 stages per day for 252 rounds per day......Now don't forget your SCUBA gear for the SEAL incursion stage, your parachute for the Army Airborne insertion and your helmet for the car crash stage because not all gear fits all sizes.................We will supply the Cougar for the Ricky Bobbi driving with the cougar in the car experience stage, so you don't have to worry about bringing your own. We have plenty of marking cartridges for the stage that we shoot back at you while you are trying to shoot and we got a deal on throwing pies that you have to dodge while shooting the last stage of the day. We were going to go with wrench's that you would have to duck, dive and dodge but those got expensive. We had to make cuts somewhere........

On a serious note, we did hire some Rangels to be present from the Flight Club for pictures with competitors and staff, so remember to clean up a bit before you come to the match. You will want to look good for pictures with the ladies...........they will be there to hand out passes to get into the Gentlemans club & Casino for those who might be interested. I was worried you'd put me with some Michigan dudes that bleed UM Blue. I love getting beat by the Ladies Super Squad but you forgot I'm left-handed so at least I'll be competitive. I already have my own Scuba gear so I should do well on that stage, haven't jumped out of a plane for 33 years but it's like riding a bike, my knees might not like it though.

Looking forward to a great match that should be plenty challenging & a lot of fun!

Oh, every stage starts with the competitor singing the Michigan Fight Song (Hail to the Victors) on key no less with all the words in correct order...otherwise the RO won't start you. You will have to resing the song to get started. Because we all bleed UM blue here north of that Ohio border!!!!!!

I will say this about our stages....what can YOU shoot while moving? All the stages require that you move with lots of options in between.

Dennis.....I said cougars......not Bea Aurthur's or in your case GILFS.....................wrong sport bubba.................but I did just order the plaques from Manny yesterday. One of them was a revolver plaque that Mr. Robot said was going home with him....so you might want to start practicing. Just saying.....

As for Bill volunteering to sing the UM fight song with "non-traditional" lyrics, I think we will take a pass....otherwise, we will have to download that to Youtube along with Bill's home address for those wishing to show their "appreciation" for such despicable acts. Or we could just let him take a "Victory Lap" in our dog pond....hmmm.......we might award him that honor just because...now that I am thinking about it. So let it be written, so let it be said...so let it be done.....Feel the luv yet, Bill?

Just think-your on my squad for 2 days.......that means we get to hassle you for 48 hours!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, baby!!!!!!

On a more serious note, a group of us went to the Round House Bar-B-Q in Trenton last night to sample their food for our match. Some serious amounts of food were put away by our group and there were only a few instances of improper rib handling by members of our group....so all is good.

So that leads me to the next question that we need answered by our competitors......how many of you are planning on purchasing a meal for lunch ($7.50 which includes a drink) where we will have the briskets, pulled pork, ribs and the like? This way we plan for having enough for everyone. I wouldn't want to be short in our planning................. Mr. Robot will be sending out an email to all the competitors whose handwriting we could read with their email address's so please get back to us with your thoughts on this matter.

Just got in the sponsorship packages from Armor Express last night............yep, you can win body armor and plates at this match....how cool is that? Considering that Armor Express is owned by the folks that started Second Chance, I think that they know a thing or two about the topic....plus SC started here in the Detroit area before moving to Northern Michigan. Happy to call Matt Davis my friend....and fellow troublemaker.

The Ladies from Flying Aces Casino & Flight Club will be available for pictures, so guys do try to look your best.......any good pictures might end up in Front Site Magazine where I am sure it will cause all kinds of issue's......

  • 2 months later...

Planning continues for this match with Jager Products delivering us a bunch of their products (Thank you Billy!!!). Akai Custom Guns, AccUrail by Doug Jones and Nosler have also agreed to provide some nice prizes for this match............

I have had some questions about a waiting list but we did not keep one due to this match being oversold. We have had only 1 person drop out (but he is from Ohio...so we are ok with that....as he lives near that State school there....ughhh).

The club has another work day this weekend where our group will finish up the final touches to props and the range in general. There has been so much work done there this year to get the new gravel in, the bays squared up and just general maintenance. The place really looks nice and has come so far from what it was just 5 years ago. So when you see a member of the club, thank them for their hard work & financial support of the club. Some folks wonder where the $$ goes from the match fee's we collect. At our club, it is pretty easy to see where that goes as so much is put directly back into the club property. That is why this match is so important as we raise $ for our berm raising fund. Not an inexpensive endeavor, so we are thankful that the competitors understand this and have supported this idea with their hard earned $.

We look forward to seeing many of you this month as we hold our Special Classifier match June 28th. 6 classfiers and 2 field courses are the plan so we can have an easy set up/clean up before our major match the following week.

See you on the range..............................

Grant.....we "May" publish them the week of the match..........I say May since that would be up to Geoff (Mr. Robot) or Rob (Woof ) to do since the stages are in their computers..........once we designed them and 'approved" them, that is where they have stayed............Top Secret and all that you know.........

Do you have clearance? Just checking.........

I don't think anyone needs to know which stage is going to have a clam shell, turner and a couple of swingers that activate before they can retrieve thier unloaded gun..... from the tactical crain start position.

That would give them an unfair advantage.

Or is that a stage for the next match.......

We had one competitor bow out today due to a family situation.........so I have 1.........count it 1 slot open for this match. You would be shooting with some very good shooters including the 8 time Canadian National Champion in Standard plus the previous Canadian Open National Champion ( I don't remember how many times....forgive me Mr. Auger...). Anyone want to mail me an application and check asap? Just a thought..........................let me know. $150 is the cost for the match 18 stages, 504 rounds........

Roy asked me to let everyone know that Sam Conway will have a few of his American Shooters Edge range bags for sale at the match. They will be selling for $65.00 each so if you want a particular color red, dark blue, green or black please let Roy know your preference and he will make the arrangement with Sam.

For those that missed out a few moths ago... and you know who you are. This is your opportunity to purchase a new American Shooters Edge range bag.

Wouldn't it be cool if you won one of the guns AND had a new shooting bag for it?
