DyNo!
It will be for a single stack (classic division - no comp) gun. Would appreciate a few suggestions for powders to try. Low recoil is optimal.
Hi-Power Jack
If you need to attain minor PF, accepted knowledge states use a heavy bullet with a fast powder (N320, WW231, etc). Depends on what powder you have access to. Edited November 27, 2014 by Hi-Power Jack
superdude
What powders do you have? See this link for optimal bullet weight for low recoil: http://www.shootingtimes.com/reloading/power-factor-recoil-bullet-weight-gives-edge/ The optimal powder is the one that uses the lowest charge weight for the desired velocity. bikerburgess
Clays and 170gr bear creek mollys is what I ran, I don't remember the load data without looking it up, but every one that shoot it asked if it made minor even though it was at 134pf
Hi-Power Jack
170gr bear creek mollys In .38 super, or .40 S&W?
DyNo!
There's no powder shortage (or .22lr shortage) in the Philippines but I haven't exactly looked to see what's on the shelves. A lot of VV powders - I don't need a whole bunch but I'll pick one up and a bunch of 147's to get started as suggested. Thanks guys!
bikerburgess
170gr bear creek mollysIn .38 super, or .40 S&W?38 super, the bullets are 358 dia in most of my guns the extra .002 dia has not been a problem and I just start low and work up on the load. I have run then in 9mm as well but there I use a slower powder. I do have a couple 9mm pistols where the chamber is to tight to run these bullets but in the ones that do it's soft like minor 40. If you have reservations about running .358 bullets several manufacturers have 160s in .356 dia
