kuletchi1
Have two 10/22's. Want to convert 1 to a .22 mag or .17. Question is, can this be done and where do I get the parts?
Larry White
No. the 22lr 10/22s action are too short for the 22wrm or 17 hornady cartridge. There is a cartrige called the 17 mach II which is a 22lr necked to 17. I believe Clark Custom Guns has barrels for this. Easy swap. just a screwdriver and allen wrench unless you use a bull barrel in which case you need some stock work or another stock, I think Clark offers both. Ruger did produce some 10/22 mag and hornady 17 rifles, No longer made.rare and pricey---------Larry
