I spent 18 grand shooting 11 major IDPA matches in 2014. Not doing that again this year, that's for sure. I don't mind defending the type of shooting in IDPA, and I have lots of friends in the sport still, but I'm not going to spend my time and attending money shooting sanctioned matches other than the nationals.
