Dead Buff
Does anyone have experience with the 30 round FNFAL mags that DSA sells? Especially the metric pattern ones.... Is there any other place I can lay my hands on 30 rounders for the FAL?
Bruce
Have purchased many 20 rounders and a couple rifles from DSA, but no 30 rounders. Given my experience with the place, I would be very surprised if they sold junk. Go for it and let us know how they work!
kellyn
They work just fine.
PacMan
The metric pattern is the std L1A2 mag (inch) modified to fit the half moon front notch in the metric receiver. Mine works just fine, and wicked looking to boot.

boyanzhu
I purchased 6 of these mags from DSA, 3 new and 3 lightly used. 5 out of 6 had very weak leaf springs. I bought replacement springs from http://www.gunthings.com/ (mags section of the site) These springs are not exactly the same but they work great. hoodhazard
I have owned the 30 rd DSA for three years and used them regularly. The leaf springs WILL fail you, otherwise the mags work great.I have streched both the leaf and the 20 spring and found reasonable success only with the 20 as long as it is not left assembled or loaded for extended times.I am trialing a spring and a half now.Toss the leaf spring for I surmize they are for the inverted original application. gl
Will Mark at ISMI design a repacement spring to work? The guy is brilliant. I am sure he could. Guy Hawkins Edited February 19, 2006 by gl
mike.45
The 30 rounders I bought from DSA work great - they didnt have leaf springs but very strong wire springs that are plenty tough. What I do know is that DSA will not ship to outside the US - you may need to do what I did and get a mate in the US to either bring them over to you or personally ship them to you. a-44978
I bought a few from tapco, but all the sudden only dsa had any at all.I soldered 2 20 round wire springs together and they worked great.Dsa has a pretty good rep, they should for the price of their stuff. Now if i can only get them to ship that blaster i ordered in DEC. 05.
