Shooter Grrl
Hush you! I'm sitting here watching the weather forecast, with the resulting thunderstorm warnings and that it's going to be below freezing tomorrow. It was 74 degrees in Jackson, TN at 6:00 pm last night! By the time I drove home, it had dropped 15 degrees to 59 in less than hour! No wonder my sinuses are messed up!
XRe
Shred's not kidding about the allergy stuff, though.... Back to more normal of highs in the high-50s/low-60s now, for the rest of this week. Had a cold front come through last night. It was up in the 70s - I think it reached 80 at my place - for the past couple of days Dave
BSeevers
Are you guys bragging or complaining? It was a weird 60 here but will be our normal 20 with snow in a few days. We don't shoot much in the winter.
SiG Lady
Yeh, what BSeevers said!!!! Are you COMPLAINING...???? Cripes... Once the outside temps here drop below about 45 degrees, the heating in these apartments ceases to be effective. I frickin' FREEZE three months out of the year....... or more. XRe
Are you guys bragging or complaining? It was a weird 60 here but will be our normal 20 with snow in a few days. We don't shoot much in the winter. Little of both Easy to get sick w/ all the temperature variations, and it's nice to have at least *some* consistent, cold weather (kills the bugs, doncha know On the other hand, because it rarely freezes or does things like snow or ice, outdoors stuff is almost always possible, unless it's raining (which happens a bit in the winter). Remember, we get the swing side of it during summer (not unusual to have a many day stretch of 100+ temps...). At least it's not usually wicked humid here like it is in Houston, and it doesn't hit nuclear like it does in Phoenix... still gets pretty darn warm, though Dave
dajarrel
The problem with the temperature swings in the winter here in Mobile is that every time we have a warm humid day, everything in the world is sloppy wet with condensation. However, the cold front came through around lunch today. Heavy rain, wind shift and voila!!! wintertime is back. Of course you need to know that typical winter weather in Mobile is highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's. Not bad considering some of your reports from northern climes. dj
Jake Di Vita
Yeah, sure complain about the weather. Even though in the past week it has been WELL below freezing and then above freezing every other day. 50 yesterday, but don't worry, it will be a balmy 17 on Sunday. I hate Michigan... SiG Lady
Yeh, what BrianH said!! Came out of the house today in Oregon to no ice on the walk, but the handrails they installed last year FOR OUR SAFETY WHEN IT'S ICY, were covered with about a 1/4" of ice!! ...so you couldn't get a grip on 'em if you HAD to!! Too weird! Cold and damp. Tired of it. Verrrrryyyy tired of it.

ErikW
I came from Incline Village (North Lake Tahoe) over the mountain (Rose) and into the valley last night and met hellacious fog. Somehow ended up going east on 341 instead of north on 395 on a drive I've done several times. Couldn't see road signs. Couldn't see shjt! Oh yeah, couldn't see the painted lines because of the snow plowing, sanding, and chains wearing them off. Putted along at 40 mph in a 65 mph zone. Oh yeah, the fog froze on my windshield. Stop laughing, Flexmoney! Edit: Oh yeah, the fog at Reno/Tahoe airport caused my connecting flight to be cancelled Sunday night and stranded me in Vegas for the night. No hotel vouchers for flights cancelled due to weather. And I lost $20 killing time with video poker waiting for the inevitable cancellation. Shut up, Kyle. Flexmoney
I was laughing...until I remembered the car that I saw wrapped around the front end of a semi-truck the other day. Weather is like re-shoots. We gotta deal...
