July ICORE Match at Big Piney

This last weekend 6 July 2014, we had 6 Stages set up for our Club ICORE Match at the Big Piney Sportsman's Club in South Central Missouri. We ended up on the same weekend as the Midwest Regionals in Des Moines Iowa. How this happened. We have our next years Club Schedule finished and posted in December. We start shooting again the first full weekend in January. The Midwest Regional Match date was set much later in the year.

Bob Briggs from Memphis and Jess Christensen from Berryville Arkansas both stopped by Big Piney to shoot our match on the way home from Des Moines. Bob has shot with us before, as we are his closest ICORE Range.

Our Stages were pretty calm compaired to all the movement in Des Moines at the Midwest Regional Match. Lots of Run and Gun on the Wedgie, Pro Am Run, In the Lane, and A Long Run Stages. I have always set up most of our ICORE stages more Practical Tactical. After reviewing the Midwest Stages, I may need to add a little more movement in the future. Most of our handgun shooters are also our 3-Gun Shooters, and they are already doing longer Run & Gun Stages in 3-Gun.

The weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time. Bob arrived from Des Moines in time for lunch at the range. Andrew had the grill fired up and cooked burgers, he also had green beans, and a tuned up Mac & Cheese dish.
