Fobus Handguard

Hey all,

I'm planning to purchase the Fobus Handguard for the AR rifles.

It features two molded picatinny rails on each side .

I plan to put an Holosight on top and a vertical forend grip under.

Any pros and Cons are welcomed .

The "zero" thing was one of my concern, and I checked the handguard I currently have on my carabine.

It has little play, It might be a problem for long range shooting, despite I don't do it often if the fobus has the same play.

I try to make my mind between a "regular" mount (the one that attaches to the handle and drop the scope above the handguard) with a weaver rail attached to the bottom of my handguard for the vertical grip and the Fobus.

I wish I could have two rifles to make the two set up and compare

BTW, I 'm looking for a light mount that goes on the barrel under the front sight, Do you know something about that kind of thing ?

Guest Dick W Holliday

your concern is the reason that Knight did away with the RIS and went to the RAS system which is a better platform for sights....the old RIS (Rail interface System) is what i've got and no way would i put an aimpoint on it.....i think the Fobus should be OK  for Lights and handles but i suspect that's about it.....Dick
