lndshrk
"Disconnection or disabling of any safety device on any gun." I take it that this puts the final kabosh on anyone diabling the grip safety and having it picked up in a safety inspection?
rhino
Sounds like all of those Series 80 and Kimber firing pin safety parts will have to go back into the guns, making them less reliable and no more "safe" too.
kdmoore
Anyone want to venture a guess as to what the magazine disconnects are considered? Hi powers use them, I don't know where mine is anymore tho don't know off the top of my head, but I think a couple other pistols use them as well, but I also don't know if it's popular to remove them. Duane Thomas
Kind of makes me glad I "sensitized" my Les Baer's grip safety, leaving it fully functional instead of pinning it. Though I guess my Wilson gun, with its non-"speed bumped" pinned grip safety, has seen its last IDPA match. Ah well, it did win me one state championship, so it's not like it owes me anything. Clyde
Sounds like all of those Series 80 and Kimber firing pin safety parts will have to go back into the guns Double fudge looks like I lost an ESP gun (Kimber II - minus II) - wait a minute I believe that means I have a deticated Steel gun now - Hot dog Then there is that CDP 1991 (Minus 80) - O'well I guess L-10 and Lim and that new division SS (Wink, Wink) Just curious is a Caspian frames with integral mag-well are allowed??? Does the Trm Race Ready knock them out?
vincent
They made it official. I wonder if they are going to enforce this rule? It will be interesting to see how they plan to do so. Looking for a pinned 1911 grip safety isn't too difficult but determining if a Glock shooter has over-modified his action to disable a safety will be more difficult. shred
Better leave that trigger lock on and engaged too. Boy will the new S&W shooters love that!

rhino
Whoa! I forgot about that goofy Springfield thing! I replaced the mainspring housing on my 9mm with an S&A magwell, which of course lacks the goofy Springfield thing. D'OH!
AikiDale
I would think, were I the cynical kind, this was suggested by the legal staff to avoid potential liability should anyone ever be injured by an unsafe piece of equipment condoned by the sponsoring organization. Don't ask and don't tell will most likely be the order of the day outside very major matches. Obviously those of you who expect rules to be fair and equally enforced just don't get it.... I think you are right on the money!! I think it will only be enforced if it is obviously unsafe. Again up to the S.O. I guess.
