Tuflehundon
I am going to be going to the range tomorrow and doing some 3gun drills for practice. 1 of the drills I will be doing is the V drill that Jerry Miculek does. The others are just things I did in 3gun matches that screwed me up and I want to work on. Such as a drill I am calling Oh Crap. Start off with 8 clays set up. Start with shotgun at low ready with 3 rounds in the gun. On buzzer fire 2 rounds and then reload only 4 rounds. Continue firing until empty, and then perform emergency reload for last clay. If you miss any clays all additional rounds will be loaded one at a time into the empty gun to practice that reload. Another I am calling 100/75/50/25. Pretty simple. 5 steel setup and 4 clays on berm. At 100 start with rifle at low ready. On buzzer engage all steel with 1 shot. Run to 75 and repeat. Run to 50 and repeat. Run to 25 and engage the 4 clays with the rifle. There are a couple of other things we are gonna work on, but each person was to come up with at least 2 drills, and then we will do as many of them as time allows tomorrow. For those of you who are able to do drills for practice, what kind of drills to you run? Edited June 8, 2014 by Tuflehundon
blairmckenzie1
i would practice transitioning guns and mounting long guns as quickly as possible. its important and can be practiced with a minimum amount of ammo.
