nexus
8 lbs or 9lbs do you use for 165-166 pf ? Thanks a lot in advance Edited May 23, 2014 by nexus
Desmo412
I use an 8lb Sprinco recoil spring with 2 coils cut off for everything from a 120PF to a 176PF in my full size open gun. Anything heavier caused a noticable dip in the dot tracking when the gun returned to battery
Parallax3D
Why would you want to run 165-166 PF? If you're trying to run Major, that's WAY too close for comfort. If you're running minor, that''s a pretty hot load.I use a 9# spring for everything from 145-175 pf. Lighter than 145 pf, and I'd probably go with a 7# spring. klee
9 lbs should be good. You can order different weights from 8-10 and see since springs are cheap. I'm running #9 on my 38S Trubor at 173pf.

Here in PI 160 pf is the minimum for open division . Lower than that is consider minor

Exactly for IPSC open major the minimum PF for open major is 160 so 165/166 Pf is high enough no need to go higher ( if you gun runs reliable and flat ) . Aircooled6racer
Hello: A 8 or 9lb ISMI recoil springs will be all you need for 121-124 grain bullets. With an 8lb I can run 125 PF stuff in my guns. Thanks, Eric

jcc7x7
As said try them all 7-10lbs depends on you, your grip, gun and load Get it so it runs flat and you don't loose your dot
bradsteimel
Might depend on your slide weight. But for my 141 power factor loads and a light slide, i use 8# Wolff springs. And for my major 170 power factor loads with a heavier slide, i use 10# Wolff springs.
xSTONESx
I've tested 7, 8 and 9 lb springs in my SV and settled on a 7lb wolff standard spring. Go shoot some Bill drills and compare YOUR results.
