mikeg1005
So I relocated for work and am thinking about buying a smoker since its finally getting nice out. I don't really want to deal with charcoal considering I don't have anywhere to dump ashes. I was looking at this thing. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Masterbuilt-30-Electric-Smoker-Black/21151686 I have a programmable receptacle thermometer so I am not concerned about perfect control on the unit itself, just has to be get hot enough and maintain temperature. Any opinions on this model? Any trouble keeping temps steady as a result of outdoor temp/sunlight? Also, with smokers of this size in general, how do you deal with larger pieces of meat? At home my family as the large Big Green Egg so I have never had issues fitting a 9-10lb brisket on it, how do you guys deal with large pieces in smokers like this? If you guys have any other models that worked good for you let me know. I'd like to keep the price under $200 and like mentioned I will have an external temp control method. dover0020
I have had this smoker for about 8 years and love it. I have no problems maintaining temperature or fitting 12-15lbs of meet in it. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Masterbuilt-30-in-Vertical-Digital-Electric-Smoker-20070106/100660191?N=5yc1vZbx92 Hope this helps
