I figured I posted my squib zero on El Prez over in "Match Screw Ups" so I should come over here and be positive with what may just be my first 100% classifier score. (at least that's what the guys in the score thread are saying).

5.19 / 55 points. Even got it on video.

I didn't notice it when I shot it, but watching the playback the first six sound like a slow bill drill, there is no difference between the splits and transitions. I had a little hang up on the reload, a 1.30 total from the "standard" position, but all's well that ends in 100%. ;)

PS: After the match I went back and shot El Prez just for classification. Bad grip, but 4.71 / 48 points is the fastest I have run it in a match.

Thanks, I thought that might be a funny way to title a thread.

I tried to send the video to a buddy, but it's too large. I am going to get a website up early next year, just photos and updates for family while I work overseas, but I think I will try to host some vids there as well.

The 4.71 is the fastest El Prez I've ever put up in a match, but the bad grip kept the points down too low. Turn and Draw awas good, reload was good, but it got real stuttery as I tried to find cadence and the damned "A" zone. The Raw Deal went much smoother.

It really don't look that cool, just smooth. You can just see a little bobble on the reload where it barely went in, but for me the best part is the first six, that looked cool. The camera is on me and you can't hardly see that I am going across targets unless you know the course.

One thing I can see is how grip changes muzzle flip. On the first six I had a good grip from the draw, and the gun is FLAT. After the almost bobbled reload, the grip is rough for the first two or three rounds and then the gun flattens out again. Intersting....

Of course, I also got the first round turn and draw squib on tape (EL PREZ). Golly I"m glad I saved that for later. <_<

almost a year later and I am still waiting for my 1st 100% to post.

We shot Raw Deal again this past weekend, and I won the stage with a 10.24 hf. About 107% according to the Ohio site.

I'm home now, and this one should go in....

Been over a year since I touched this thread, or Raw Deal.

We shot it agian today at Malabar, and I tried to go sloooowww and smooth and "hun" it with all the points. I dropped three close "C's" and strolled to a 5.92. Still it's a 9.6x hf and Ohio says it's abotu 102%.

That's three "huns" in a row on 99-33, from December 04 to now. I wish I had that kind of consistency with ALL the classifiers.

ARGHGHG!!!!

USPSA posted my Raw Deal % as "only" 96.28%. <_< 9.63 hf, Ohio says 101.3682%

They were right on for the others, so what gives???

And no, with a measley 96% I didn't make GM this time. :(

and in a comedic, somewhat humiliating twist....

Dear Eric:

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the HF 9.62846 for 99-33 in Limited does factor out at 96.284%. Sorry, there's nothing we can do to change that - it's a computer thing. However, the good news is that you have less than half a percentage point to go to make GM in Limited - you are now at 94.7654 percent average.

Good luck!

Val

Val

thanks for getting back to me.

I guess the hf for Raw Deal got "updated" to 10.00 instead of the 9.5 it was at. I know you can't "confirm or deny" this, but it surely has changed since the last time I shot it.

I'll keep working until I make it.

DOH!!!

I guess they updated it, and me in the same month.

It's a conspiracy!

Just look at it as the carrot that we have to keep hanging in front of you to keep you going. Otherwise all we'd hear is GM this GM that and you'd shoot crappy at the open cause you would want to prove that you're a GM shooter. I bet you kick some butt and beat all the GM's there. ;)
