I am going to try to get confirmation that they will or will not be able to put on the match by this weekend. If I can't get that, we will start making plans for an alternate location. furyalecto Posted August 4, 2014 Author Share Posted August 4, 2014 Unfortunately Sparta's match director was unable to put on the Sectional this year. We are currently in negotiations with a club in central, IL. A local match director met with the club president and got his buy in and support to move the sectional to that club on the same dates. To get an official approval, which we are about 95% sure it will take place, we must put the proposal in front of the membership for a vote. The vote will take place Sunday 10 August 2014. We are already leaning forward on the planning for the match in the anticipation of an approved vote (stages, squadding, etc). We expect to push a full press release via shooting forums, USPSA.org, and social media outlets on Sunday if approved. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Loami is located approximately 15-20minutes from Springfield, IL. This is something that came to us on short notice, but we plan on making every effort to get the match registration up and going ASAP. In the next week we will try to get a match hotel established in Springfield, IL. The match will take place in an all day format, with choice of days. Limited slots for Friday to shoot with staff, saturday and sunday normal competitor days. We will have 9 stages and roughly 211 rounds plus chrono. Not only will they be sending folks to shoot, they will also be bringing some pro-shop items, and helping out with some prize table items. If there is something you need make sure you call them in advance so they can get it on the truck. Go see them at http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/ Match Prizes - We are currently working on plaques for the match by classes / divisions / etc. As far as what will be given away: 30 entries in any division we will give away a gun to HOA. I want to give away some guns so I hope this will entice some more entries to come in. We are also in negotiations with some other companies trying to put together as much as a prize table we can for everyone. Prizes other than plaques and guns will be awarded in your match registration bag and selected by random lottery. Current match sponsors contributing to the prize table consist of Automatic Accuracy, Practical Shooting Sports, Midwest Rifle Works, and SNS Castings. The final touchings to the stages are being completed this week and we will be submitting to USPSA. Hopefully we will get these posted very soon. We have competitor slots available for Friday to accommodate you. Self squadding is also available Friday. There will be very few t-shirts available at the match for purchase. So far we have 60 competitors registered for the sectional match with limited being the largest division. They are just a few attendees away from a guaranteed gun for HOA. We have still been working with some manufactures to make sure we can give some good items back in the shooters bags. This is gearing up to be a great match. New walls and props were tested at the club match this weekend. JGus Posted September 9, 2014 Share Posted September 9, 2014 The club match at Lefthanders Gun Club (host of the 2014 Illinois Section Championship) this last weekend was easily one of the most fun and challenging club match's I've ever shot. The same people that designed these stages are the same people that designed the IL Sect stages. The crew has really outdone themselves with all the new walls, props, and work to the bays.
