21 shooter
I used to have a carbide lamp to smoke my sights with. Does anyone know if they are still made? Mine was similar to a coal miners lamp and worked great.
Ming the Merciless
The old "gun smoker" carbide lamps are still available, but this works a lot better http://www.sbsdistributing.com/index.php?pr=Ray-Vin_SuperSmoker Also available at White Oak Armament http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17662
21 shooter
I remember something similar to those. The one I had was more like an actual lamp but I think this will work just fine. Thanks for the links.
stardust tommy
use some paper tape and set it on fire... I used to use the carbid lamp but now I have some strokes of papertape in mij rangebag even better is to use water based airbrush paint, it is matte black and holds better than soot, easy to remove afterwards gr Tom

coldchar
Let me wade into the murky waters of the civilian PPC match, which I run, and the police PPC. I originally started the civilian 1500 in Phoenix in conjuction with the police PPC since I liked the shooting demands. Although the match is not recognized as part to the police PPC structure, the scores are submitted to NRA and are accepted for classification purposes in the police PPC structure (per police PPC participants)..
