Service Desk
Since I started to tumble with NuFinish I have noticed that the expander die on my Super 1050 seems to hang up on fired cases in much the same way as it does with brand new cases. I can live with that, but my bullet feeder cannot. It continually drops more than one bullet as the expander releases from the charged and expanded case. I have adjusted the bullet drop die but it seems that I need to add some weight to the bullet drop die shaft to dampen the vibration. Anyone else experienced the problem ? RussellM
Have you made sure the bullet feed die is not binding slightly. When I first got my 1050 I had to play around with where the bullet feeder was mounted on the case feeder so that when the press was in the down position the bullet feed spring did not cause the bullet feed die to momentarily hang up and drop more than one bullet. If it really is the shock from the case releasing then I would think the die would need to be adjusted out a bit so the three check balls inside the die get a better grab on the next bullet. Service Desk
Got it sorted out... Re-routed the feeder tube, adjusted the dropper die, backed the locknut tension off a bit and moved the drop tube set screw 180 degrees so that it couldn't touch the powder thrower any more ! Runs great again.
